Terms of Service

These terms govern use of the Vestry church administration platform, operated by Shire Tech ("we", "us"). By creating or using a Vestry account, the church and its users ("you") agree to these terms.

The service

Vestry provides web-based tools for managing church contacts, scheduling, giving, communications and related administration. We may add, change or remove features over time. The free core is provided without charge; certain premium modules are made available per church under a plan or a licence, as described on your in-app Billing page.

Accounts and acceptable use

  • You are responsible for keeping sign-in access secure and for the activity of your users.
  • You agree to use Vestry lawfully, and not to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or other churches' data.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the data you enter, including having an appropriate basis to hold information about your members and contacts.

Plans, licences and payment

The free core remains available at no cost. Premium modules may be enabled under a paid plan or granted free under a licence key issued by us. Where fees apply, they are agreed with the church in advance. A licence may be issued for pilots, partner churches or other arrangements at our discretion, and unlocks modules at no charge for the agreed period.

Your data

You retain ownership of the data you put into Vestry. We process it as your data processor under our Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time using the in-app tools, and we will return or delete it on request when your account ends.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Vestry available and to apply security updates and backups, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Support is provided by email at support@shire-tech.co.uk on a reasonable-efforts basis.

Liability

Vestry is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the fees paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the service

You may stop using Vestry at any time. We may suspend or end an account for non-payment or serious breach of these terms, giving reasonable notice where practical and an opportunity to export your data.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to account administrators. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
